Reading Classes

Our small-group reading classes for students in grades K–12 build vocabulary, reading comprehension, and critical thinking through structured lessons and guided discussion.

Grades K-12

​Based on the Wordly Wise reading curriculum and augmented with material tailored to the individual classes and students.

Writing Classes

Our small-group writing classes for students in grades 4–8 help develop strong organization, clear ideas, and confident written expression. Classes are discussion-based, with small-group instruction tailored to students’ grade levels and goals.

Writing Classes for Grades K–8 and Advanced Research Writing

Based on the 6 Trait Writing curriculum and augmented with material tailored to the individual classes and students. Miss Julie teaches K-3 writing classes, and Miss Alice teaches Grades 4-8 and Advanced Research Writing.

Meet  the  Teachers

Alice Rachiele

Alice has spent many years teaching writing and helping students develop strong analytical and communication skills. Her instruction emphasizes clear thinking, structured writing, and careful reading. She believes students gain confidence when they understand how writing works and are guided step-by-step as they develop their ideas.

Julie Betts

Julie works closely with students to strengthen reading comprehension and written expression. Her teaching focuses on thoughtful discussion, guided practice, and helping students develop confidence in expressing their ideas clearly.
